Product Review

36 miles.

I lost suction ONE time wearing my WillowWood One system.

And the best part? It was my own fault. 😂

I knew when I put my leg on that I had a little air bubble in there, but I thought, “Eh, it’ll probably work itself out.”

Narrator: It did not.

So technically, it counts. One suction loss in 36 miles.

That’s pretty freaking incredible.

25.5 miles in. Still moving.

I picked up the pace a little, but my left foot is absolutely killing me. I’ve changed my sock FIVE times trying to get it comfortable. 😂

So I made a strategic pit stop at Subway, grabbed a protein pocket, giving the foot a little break, then I’m getting back out there.

14.5 miles to go.
40 miles for 40 years. We’re finishing this thing.

40 years ago today, September 6, 1986, I lost my leg.

Today I’m out at East Rec in Elyria getting ready to try something a little crazy: walk 40 miles for 40 years as an amputee.

If you’re around and want to come walk a few laps or a few miles with me, come on out.

For me, being an amputee is all I’ve ever really known. But I also know there are people who lose a limb and feel like their life is over. Some are months into it. Some are years into it. They’re still struggling to see what life can look like on the other side.

Not every amputee is going to have the same mobility. Not everyone is going to walk 40 miles, and that isn’t the point.

The point is that life can still be GOOD.

You can still laugh. You can still set goals. You can still challenge yourself. You can still find things that make you happy.

So today I’m walking 40 miles to celebrate 40 years, but more importantly, I’m raising money to help other amputees gain greater mobility and hopefully get a little more of their life back.

The donation link is pinned at the top of my profile. If you can donate, thank you. If you can’t, sharing this helps just as much.

Now it’s time to start walking. 40 miles to go.

Tomorrow is about here. I will be live here and on tikrok (josh.green.amputee) all day. Really hoping for the rain to hold off and to keep a good pace. See ya'll early. ❤️🦿🫡

Forty years ago, losing my leg changed my life. On September 6, I'll walk 40 miles so someone else can get theirs back.

Most amputees probably haven’t heard of the Kinn system from Vessl Prosthetics yet. It’s still relatively new, which is exactly why I wanted to ask some of the basic questions first.

So after Sydney Robinson explained what Kinn is and how it automatically adjusts socket fit while you walk, my next question was:

If someone is interested in this, how do they actually get it?

Do you talk to your prosthetist? Can you try the system first? Can Kinn be added to the socket you already have, or does your prosthetist have to build an entirely new socket around it?

Sydney explains the process in this quick clip.

I have several more clips coming from our conversation because I think a lot of amputees are going to be hearing about this technology for the first time.
