For the second year in a row, the Golden Oak Yearbook has been named the Yearbook of the Year for the State of Louisiana at the Journalism in Education (JEA) Silver Scribe Awards Competition at Loyola University in New Orleans.

Individual awards were also presented to the following people. Kari Wheeler, Advisor of the Year; Charlie LeBlanc and Luke Ray, Student Editors of the Year; Alyssa McLin, 1st place in Feature Photography; Julia van Mullem, 1st place in Feature Writing; Londyn Folse, 1st place in News Writing; Luke Ray, 1st and 2nd place in Academic Photography; Avery Andrews, 2nd place in Student Life Design and 2nd place in Graphics and Art Work; and Raylee Waskom, 2nd place in Sports Writing.

Congratulations to the Golden Oak staff for the dedication they show year in and year out to our amazing program! We are proud of you!

Congratulations to Golden Oak yearbook writers Darren Quave and Londyn Folse for their achievements at the Louisiana Scholastic Press Association’s Fall Invitational Writing Competition at LSU on Nov. 7. The two competed against schools from across the state. Quave placed 1st in Feature Writing and Folse placed 1st in News Writing and 2nd in Feature Writing. Congratulations! We are proud of you!
