My husband, Phillip Green, is such an innovator! We want a better way to get blanks for our wood projects, so he built a chainsaw mill. We’ve got plenty of logs for making wonderful wooden items.

Welll, at least we will be able to eat for a while. Puff ball mushrooms are really good! They will be an accompaniment to the chicken and pea stir fry I make tonight. Plus another dish. I like looking up recipes for foraged food.

We are having MuFaux (pronounced M**o) burgers. These faux burgers are made with chicken of the woods mushrooms from our property. Hariet came up with name.

Hariet and I went on a short hike yesterday. We had a small bag and scissors in case we saw flowers we wanted to press and dry - we found 4, 1 of which was brown and sad-looking before we pressed the rest. We ran into a lady walking a c**n hound with a basket. I asked her what she was collecting. Red Bay leaves. I use bay leaves in soup. She says they are great in rice dishes, as well. I can’t wait to have them dried and try them out! I love when I meet a kindred-spirit forager!! RIGHT ON! I’m almost out of bay leaves at home.

We posted the registration page for the 5th Annual Fam Reunion at The Farm. As always, we welcome people to camp and will be serving a yummy hot lunch complete with beverage and dessert. I know it’s a little soon, but you can register here when you’re ready to commit.

5th Annual Fam Reunion at The Farm is a Disc golf tournament in Anabel, Missouri beginning August 17, 2024 and hosted by Phillip and Laurie Green.
