After watching Toy Story 5, Kenndal decided Jessie was her new favorite. So, of course, we had to find the hat, the outfit, and the boots because when you're 3, dressing up isn't pretending it's becoming your favorite character.
We got all dolled up and headed to the parade, and the second she saw Jessie, she started waving and excitedly yelling, "Jessie! Jessie!"
What she didn't know was that Jessie was about to spot her tiniest cowgirl in the crowd.
Then it happened. Jessie walked right over and gave her the sweetest hug.
Watching your child realize that the character they adore is
"real" for a moment is one of the most magical parts of parenthood. For a few seconds, I wasn't watching a parade anymore I was watching childhood wonder unfold right in front of me.
And for one sweet moment, we both believed in magic again. @
