Identical twins on opposite sides of the country, (one in NC, one in CA) our weekly Skype sessions accidentally turned into a podcast. Visit us on iTunes, youtube, or our home base on Pixelated Geek, and listen in as we fangirl on a bi-weekly basis over Welcome To Night Vale, Transformers, Doctor Who, and any other pop culture items that happen to catch our attention.

First up this week we recap a Night Vale episode that's so freaking clever we can't stand it, a hard-bitten gumshoe film noir mystery with all the tropes. Watch out for the nickel-weasles.
Then we recap Pluribus episode 7, which keeps breaking our hearts in the most unexpected ways.

The investigation into the murder of Marcus Vanston is moving ahead at breakneck speed. And for this week only, Cecil's covering the latest developments in a hard-boiled, film noir style that only gets weirder (and more fun) when you add Night Vale's tendency to mess with metaphors (we WILL be tryin...

“Let’s take a break from hard-hitting topics for a while and bring in some frikkin’ whimsy."

Kathryn reviews the Hugo-nominated novellas "The River Has Roots" by Amal El-Mohtar, and "Murder by Memory" by Olivia Waite.

Let's take a break from hard-hitting topics for a while and bring in some frikkin' whimsy. The novellas by Amal El-Mohtar and Olvia Waite have wildly different settings: a small town on the border of Fae and the banks of a river where the water is highly-concentrated magic, versus a detective story....

So it took us two years but we finally started watching The Amazing Digital Circus and it has TOTALLY EATEN OUR BRAINS. Listen in as we spoil everything about episodes 6, 7 and 8.

If we had to recap the last three episodes of The Amazing Digital Circus VERY quickly, we'd say episode 6 is delightfully violent, episode 7 is a kick in the heart, and episode 8 is terrifying. We mention at the beginning of the episode that there's no need to recap all three point by point.

This week we discuss that weird sound behind the sky that everybody's hearing in Night Vale, and how it's so much worse when you DON'T hear it.

Then we get into The Amazing Digital Circus because it's eaten our brains and we're not going to be able to do other things till we finish it.

"Does anyone hear that sound behind the sky?" (Get used to hearing that question if you listen to this week's Welcome To Night Vale, because Cecil asks it a lot.) There are some updates on the Marcus Vanston murder investigation, cooking tips involving mud, and the Philosophical Society is gonna get...

"...Mirrors already have the potential to be VERY creepy...Kingfisher takes all of this inherent creepiness and runs with it, creating a whole set of rules about a world that exists BECAUSE of the real world, but also INDEPENDENT from it...

Kathryn reviews T. Kingfisher's Hemlock & Silver.

I had just taken poison when the king arrived to inform me that he had murdered his wife... It's one hell of an opening line in T. Kingfisher's latest reinterpreted fairytale. The king in this case is still grieving a horrific betrayal, and what he had to do in response to that betrayal, and now

It took ten years, but both the East Coast and West Coast branches of the podcast got to meet up in Manhattan once again for a weekend of museums, comic book shops, subway ficus, fancy islands, sidewalk cocktails, surprise concerts, private hot pot rooms, and treehouses.
