Today, Animation Academy celebrates its 20th anniversary! 🎉 we visited the Animation Academy and spent time drawing Mickey Mouse and chatting with the talented cast members who illustrate magic. Each day guests get the opportunity to let their creativity shine, guided by these wonderful artists! ✏️🎨

We got to spend time with various teams from around the resort that help bring the holiday magic every night during a special 3rd shift tree lighting moment. This beloved community tradition is just one example of how Disneyland Resort has brought happiness into the City of Anaheim for over 70 years. We had an incredible time spreading Halloween✨ magic ✨ to Anaheim residents at this cherished event.🧡

The magic of CHOC Walk in the Park continues with CHOC Minnie Walk at ! 🩷 It was a joy bringing the spirit of the 70th Celebration of Disneyland Resort directly to the hospital, for patients and their families who couldn’t participate in this year’s CHOC Walk. With everything from giveaways and crafts with Disney VoluntEARS to surprises with characters like Mickey and Minnie Mouse, the morning was full of smiles and special memories for families who need it most. ✨

The Disney Ambassador Program

Disney Ambassadors serve as the official representatives of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. Their role encompasses that of the Emissary of Goodwill, the official media spokespeople, host to Resort guests and the Cast Member Representative of their respective Resorts. Disney Ambassadors offer the outside community a personal relationship with the Resort. There are currently 11 Disney Ambassadors serving at each Disney Park and Resort worldwide.

The Disney Global Ambassador Program dates back to the Tencennial Celebration of Disneyland ®, commemorating the Park’s first successful decade of operation. In 1964, the idea of selecting a Cast Member to represent the Park during the anniversary celebration was conceived. Initially, there was no intention of extending the Ambassador position beyond the inaugural year. However, since the program proved successful, it was decided that the Ambassador Tradition should continue on for years to come.

1964 was a busy time for Walt Disney and The Walt Disney Company: we were preparing to celebrate the Tenth Anniversary of Disneyland; Mary Poppins was in theaters; we had created four attractions for the 1964 New York World’s Fair; and we were busy planning “Project X”� – which later became the Walt Disney World ® Resort.

During this time, Walt received many requests for media interviews and to attend numerous events. Considering the Tenth Anniversary of Disneyland was close at hand, he wanted to do something special to help celebrate. Recognizing the talented Cast of Disneyland, the Ambassador Program was born.
