In celebration of Women’s History Month, we had the honor of facilitating a conversation with Disney Legend, Martha Blanding and 26 young women from at Parkside Market in the Downtown Disney District. ✨

🪟 During Martha’s visit we were also joined by several former Disney Ambassadors to celebrate and visit Martha’s dedicated window display, that can be found on Main Street, U.S.A., now through the end of March.

💜 We are so grateful for the stories Martha shared about her time working at Disneyland Resort and the lessons she has learned as a pioneer, an author and a Disney Legend.

As we close one chapter and begin another, we’d like to share our appreciation to Ken Potrock for his tremendous impact on our cast members and guests. We wish him all the best in his new role as President, Major Events Integration, The Walt Disney Company, and are excited to welcome Thomas Mazloum as our new president. Thomas recently led Disney Cruise Line, Disney Vacation Club, Adventures by Disney and other Disney Signature Experiences. Thank you, Ken, and welcome, Thomas! It’s a bright future for Disneyland.

You guys are on your own!” 🐍🛕We had so much fun celebrating 30 years of expeditions with the cast members of the beloved Indiana Jones Adventure attraction and the excitement continued all week long! From sharing anniversary collectibles and unique photo opportunities with guests, to a memorable movie night in the film room – the cast enjoyed many joyful moments together. How do you Celebrate Soulfully? 💜 There are so many ways to honor Black stories at Disneyland Resort, year-round! Here are a few of the ways we’ve been able to celebrate:

🎤 We welcomed dozens of Southern California community choirs and two award-winning artists to the Fantasyland Theatre in Disneyland park, for “Celebrate Gospel” concerts. This resort tradition has been around for more than a decade and is always filled with such joyful and uplifting performances.

💐 We added our lists of gratitude to the “Wall of Giving Flowers” in Disney California Adventure park. This act is meant to serve as reminder to honor, thank and recognize those who are special to you, while you still have to opportunity to do so.

🪟 We paid a visit to Main Street, U.S.A., to see Disney Legend, Martha Blanding’s display window in front of the Emporium. The display will be on Main Street, U.S.A., throughout Black History Month and Women’s History Month!

To all who run through this happy place, welcome! ✨From start to finish, we are so proud of all the cast members, runners and spectators who made this Half Marathon Weekend a success. We’re so grateful to have been a part of such a joyful weekend centered in care and wellness. On behalf of runDisney, Disneyland Resort was also proud to donate $50,000 to for the incredible impact they make in our community! Happy Holidays! ✨ What a year it has been! As we reflect on 2024, we are filled with gratitude for the opportunity to serve as Disney Ambassadors. We have felt overwhelmed with support from our community and remain consistently impressed by the dedication and the magic our cast members create at Disneyland Resort every single day. 

This year has been filled with so many milestones and joyful celebrations and as we head into 2025 we look forward to even more. As we near the 70th anniversary of and the 60th Anniversary of the Disney Ambassador Program, we’re honored that we’ll get to continue representing the wonderful stories of the cast members of Disneyland Resort.

We hope you all have a safe and joyful holiday season. ❤️🎁

The Disney Ambassador Program

Disney Ambassadors serve as the official representatives of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. Their role encompasses that of the Emissary of Goodwill, the official media spokespeople, host to Resort guests and the Cast Member Representative of their respective Resorts. Disney Ambassadors offer the outside community a personal relationship with the Resort. There are currently 11 Disney Ambassadors serving at each Disney Park and Resort worldwide.

The Disney Global Ambassador Program dates back to the Tencennial Celebration of Disneyland ®, commemorating the Park’s first successful decade of operation. In 1964, the idea of selecting a Cast Member to represent the Park during the anniversary celebration was conceived. Initially, there was no intention of extending the Ambassador position beyond the inaugural year. However, since the program proved successful, it was decided that the Ambassador Tradition should continue on for years to come.

1964 was a busy time for Walt Disney and The Walt Disney Company: we were preparing to celebrate the Tenth Anniversary of Disneyland; Mary Poppins was in theaters; we had created four attractions for the 1964 New York World’s Fair; and we were busy planning “Project X”� – which later became the Walt Disney World ® Resort.

During this time, Walt received many requests for media interviews and to attend numerous events. Considering the Tenth Anniversary of Disneyland was close at hand, he wanted to do something special to help celebrate. Recognizing the talented Cast of Disneyland, the Ambassador Program was born.
