Sans armor
Lately I have embraced the decision to forego my plate armor roughly half way through the day so I may more thoroughly enjoy my time at the West Virginia Renaissance Festival . I'm rarely ever seen wearing anything other than my "iconic" armor. I have plenty of other outfits and costumes that I never wear. The reasoning is that as a content creator who's face is essentially my helmet, the armet with the glorious plume, is that if I'm not in that armor, people won't care about my videos, content or me in general.
It is a very stupid reason but as this is essentially my job or at least I'm making a very serious go at making this my job, it's pretty important that people like and enjoy and engage with my videos and content. But I've also realized it's important not to get trapped in doing ONE thing. That's been one of my biggest fears as a content creator is getting stuck doing only ONE thing in ONE way only. So I'm going to make more effort in wearing my other costumes and doing videos with those as well.
What has really helped me come to this decision these past weekends (this is going to sound so vain, but I assure you it's not) Is that even without my armor and helmet... People have recognized me, and wanted to talk to me and even get photos with me. It's one thing being recognized when I have my "face" on, but to be recognized without it is so freaking cool and surreal! It's told me that people like me for me and what I do and it's not just my armor. So I really wanted to thank EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU that has followed, shared, supported, donated, or stopped to talk with me. I've always been a very shy person with a myriad of social anxieties and you all have helped me break through so many of them. So THANK YOU!
P.S. Don't worry my "Sir Astor" armor isn't going anywhere as I freaking love my main kit, and who doesn't have that plume!? But I will try doing things and even making appearances in different costumes in the near future!
