I didn’t expect the last month to change me this much.
For the past several years, I’ve worked behind the scenes helping run and grow real estate businesses. I’m proud of that work, but I’ve also known for a while that sitting behind a computer all day isn’t for me.
I’ve always been drawn to hands-on work, learning by doing, figuring things out in real time, and stepping into situations where I don’t have all the answers.
That’s also where I’ve found the most joy over the years: gardening, growing food, making things from scratch, raising chickens, and building things I was definitely not qualified to build.
Those were always the parts of my day I looked forward to most.
Recently, life gave me an unexpected chance to rethink what I want my days to look like.
Instead of defaulting to the path that made the most sense on paper, I decided to follow my curiosity for a while.
That choice has already changed me.
I’ve spent the last few weeks working on farms, getting my hands dirty, asking a lot of questions, learning from people with completely different skills and life experiences, and saying yes to things I’ve never done before.
It’s also been humbling to realize how much I don’t know.
And I love it.
There’s something freeing about being a beginner again.
I don’t know exactly where this path is leading yet, and that’s uncomfortable to admit as someone who’s always liked having a plan.
But I’m starting to realize I don’t need the whole thing figured out right now.
I just need to keep paying attention to what makes me feel alive.
I haven’t been posting much because I’ve been busy figuring things out, but I think I’m back.
I feel more curious, inspired, and excited about what’s ahead than I have in a long time.
