Hoping this summer Yukie and I will be able to make it out to Kennecott Mine! 🏔️⛏️ This remote historic gem tucked deep in Wrangell-St. Elias National Park is high on my Alaska bucket list. Those massive red mill buildings clinging to the mountainside tell the story of one of the richest copper mines in the world back in the early 1900s — now a preserved ghost town and National Historic Landmark right beside the Kennicott Glacier. It’s rugged, off-the-grid, and takes serious planning to reach, but that’s exactly what makes it such an incredible adventure! If we play our cards right, might be able to do some salmon dipping on the famous Copper River 🤞🤞😆🎣🤠🚗

Good morning! ❄️ Snow’s melting fast, so my krew 🤠🫎🚗 is heading to the big city this week to rig up our fishing gear.
Pro tip: save those belly strips — they’re loaded with omega-3s and that rich, fatty salmon goodness. Absolute flavor bombs.
Tight lines this summer, folks — sockeye season is shaping up to be another banner year! 🎣 ~ Tim

What in tarnation! I think Mother Nature went out on an all-night bender last night. Mr. Snowblower is plotting evil stuff while Eddie, the sockeye Sammie isn’t having any of it 😆🤦‍♂️❄️ Maybe today is a search for Cabin property on the Internet day 🔍🕵️‍♂️

Exciting update: I’m hearing the Denali Highway is officially open for the season! 🚗🌲🤠

This legendary 135-mile gravel road connecting the Parks and Richardson Highways is one of those rare drives that feels like a true adventure. I had the chance to explore it a couple summers back and was completely amazed—unbeatable sense of remoteness. You can drive it in a day but plan for a week to soak it all in.

As a seasonal route only open in the summer, It’s raw, beautiful, and remote, so come prepared. Services are limited, but the payoff is massive. There are campgrounds at both ends of the highway, a few lodges and several Boondocking locations 🏕️

Who else is itching to hit the Denali Highway this summer? Road condition—information links in comments below. 🚗🤠

🔥 Short-timer’s syndrome is hitting HARD, folks!😱🤠

My 3rd official winter at the Kenai River cabin (2025-2026) wraps up next week and I’m grinning like a kid on the last day of school.

Quick regroup, TLC for Yukie, a wash for ole Mr. Long Legs, and camping gear sorted — then this crazy crew is hitting the road for more old truck adventures, dusty trails, beach bonfires, and maybe even scouting that perfect little cabin spot.

Alaska, you beautiful beast — summer 2026, we’re coming for ya! 🤠🚗🫎☕️
Who else is ready for dirt roads, midnight sun and questionable freeze dried food 😆

I’m feeling the urge and need to smell like campfire smoke, with a hint of beach 🫣😆 Call it “fire n’ beach” evening wear 🕺 mr. Long legs prefers something with a little bit of musk in it 🤣🫎

We need more of this! Alaska beach camping and camp fires 🔥 Been plotting out the strategy challenge is so many options and so little time 🤠

Grabbed these gorgeous fresh Alaskan oysters from Tanner's Alaskan Seafood . They’re such a big hit I got the last few until tomorrow morning 🫣 — guess I’ll have to wait until then for round two! 😂

I did some research and oysters have been a thing for thousands of years — ancient Romans were obsessed, and coastal folks have been shucking them forever. Nothing beats the classic: raw on the half shell with a squeeze of lemon and a little hot sauce. Pure ocean goodness!

Thinking about trying Oysters Rockefeller or my gramp’s favorite — frying them in flour, salt, and pepper with lots of butter.

What’s your favorite way to eat ‘em? I’m guessing Mr. Long Legs will want some if he sees me… shhh 🫎😝🦪

GOOD MORNING ☕️Alaska reindeer sausage! Santa approved😝 Won’t be long before we’re on the road again enjoying mornings like this together. Virtually of course 🤩🤠
