Holy Moly... Join the boys as they sit down with the one and only Matt Schultz, aka the "Revered" (yes, that's not a typo!) from the Anchorage First Presbyterian Church up in Alaska.

Matt, the man of the cloth with a twist, is here to sprinkle some divine humor and dispel all those church and Christianity stigmas. From artist to collar-wearer, his journey is a wild ride.

We dive into the hilarious and, at times, traumatic experiences of growing up in the church. Matt, with the eloquence of a gospel choir, makes church sound like the ultimate gathering you didn't know you were missing!

So, whether you're a seasoned churchgoer or someone who's done a little spiritual deconstruction, tune in and let Matt's heavenly humor make you reconsider your Sunday plans. Amen to that!

Tomorrow we dive deep into religion, the church, and faith with Rev. Matt Schultz of First Presbyterian of Anchorage.

As most of you, who have listened to this podcast before, may know that Kyle and I grew up religious, and the discussion of “deconstructing religion” is a very hot topic on some of the episodes.

Rev. Matt was gracious enough to come on and talk to us about deconstructing but also his journey to become a reverend and how he not only stands up for the LGBTQIA+ community but invites all - no matter their background - to his church.

It’s an inspiring conversation - one that we are excited to share with you.

So tune in tomorrow

We're honored to welcome a local Alaskan hockey legend, JJ Johnson, to the podcast. JJ's journey through the Alaskan hockey scene, donning the jerseys UAA Seawolves and the Alaska Aces, is impressive.

JJ Johnson was the definition of an enforcer on the ice, the player you'd send out to maintain order and, when necessary, drop the gloves to defend his teammates. But his story goes far beyond the semi-pro & pro rinks. He's one of the few Alaskans who made it all the way to the NHL, and while his NHL career may have been relatively short, his impact was immense.

One of the memorable moments in JJ's career was his 2014 fight against the legendary John Scott, a battle that has been viewed 1.3 million times on YouTube, a testament to the unforgettable nature of that knockout.

But JJ Johnson isn't just a tough guy; he's also a man with a heart of gold. In this episode, he opens up about his other passions, particularly his mission for mentoring kids from all walks of life. His commitment to positively impacting the youth is as inspiring as his on-ice exploits.

Through our conversation, JJ sheds light on the grueling realities of professional hockey, emphasizing that sometimes there are alternative paths to fulfilling your dreams. Join us as we delve into the life and career of this Alaskan hockey hero, learning about the man behind the enforcer and the lessons he has to share.
