It’s Chicken week for the GFA World for Christmas Critter Campaign! Our goal is to provide 200 pairs of chickens for the Christmas Critter Campaign by Sunday!
Your gift towards chickens can help supplement a family’s income and often helps them get on their feet financially. Hungry families can eat or sell the nutritious eggs, or they can hatch chicks to increase their flock and later have more eggs and chicks to sell. A pair of chickens is only $15, how many pairs of chickens can you provide?

🏔️ Interior: Blizzard conditions expected through tonight. Additional snow: 1–3", up to 4" south and east of Fairbanks.

🌨️ North Slope: Blizzard conditions expected. Additional snow: 1–3" in most areas, 6–12" in Eastern Brooks Range and Dalton Highway (MP 280–370).

🥶 Northern Susitna Valley: Cold Weather Advisory from 3 AM Saturday to 9 AM Monday. Dangerously low wind chills of 30–40 below zero expected, with strongest gusts through Broad Pass. Use caution outside and wear appropriate clothing, including hat and gloves.

💨 Matanuska Valley: High Wind Watch from 3 AM Sunday to 9 AM Monday. Potential for hazardous high winds. Secure loose objects and monitor forecasts.

⚠️ Thompson Pass: High Wind Warning. Gusts up to 75 mph, wind chills down to -40°F. Travel may be difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles.

MSBSD School Closure Update for Monday, December 8

MSBSD Regions 1–5 and Region 7 will be closed on Monday, December 8, 2025 due to high wind, the forecast, and electrical outages. All activities in these regions are canceled.

Region 6 — Su-Valley, Talkeetna, Trapper Creek, and Willow — will operate on a normal schedule with transportation. Any changes to Region 6 transportation or school operations will be communicated in the morning.
