Happy New Year to all!

As many of you know, I am an actively practicing registered nurse in CVICU/stepdown/progressive care. Just want to provide a health and wellness update.

Right now we are seeing a mixed bag of various respiratory infections in the the hospitals I currently work in. Primarily RSV, Influenza A and Infuenza B. Covid is still here also, so please wash your hands and mask if you think you might have a respiratory infection.

Finally, we have many hospitalized with a "pneumonia" of a non-specific variety.

Be safe, keep a regular work-out schedule and wash hands!

Today I am demonstrating a spinning heel kick. A very powerful kick that is actually practical if executed carefully with a proper setup.

We are happy to welcome back Dr. Ben McMichael. Dr. McMichael is a 5th Degree Senior Black Belt in Taekwondo. He started training at the age of 12 in Georgia. He completed His J.D. and PhD. at Vanderbilt University and his wife is a Nurse Practitioner in Murfreesboro. Dr. McMichael has one son who will be starting Taekwondo soon! Dr. McMichael is a very talented martial artist and really loves to work the front leg hook kick to the helmet of his opponents. He loves to teach and his classes are exciting and the pace is fast.
