These two are my favorites to use. A lodge 14 and a griswold 8. The wall picture is just a small portion of what I got from my grandparents. I have multiple boxes of griswold, wagner, Piqua , pans, pots, griddles, do's, irons, and trivets yet to go through. What rare items should I be on the lookout for as I go through them ? Please. I also got the cookstove !!

At a Nevada thrift store store two days ago, no CI. I saw this $5 lid on the bowl. and was thrilled to find this lid. I told the cashier I don’t think it goes with this bowl. She said they are selling it as a set. Bonus bowl for me. Lid has C8 made in USA 😁

I've seen alot of controversy over sanding cast iron so I had to try and honestly my opinion it's makes a brand new lodge pan 100 times better I sanded to smooth to 320grit (working my way up from 80grit) and seasoned with avocado oil 2 time added a little oil and instantly fried and egg no issue with easy clean up

One can will last a very long time.
It has a long shelf life.
No trans fat.
It works great for seasoning cast iron. It's all I use on all my cast iron, old or new. Doesn't flake and works better than most oils.
Although I usually cook with butter or olive oil, it's nice knowing I have an emergency backup for cooking with the big can of crisco.
Speaking of emergencies, I can shove a strip of a cotton sock or t-shirt into that can of crisco and have a candle or small heat source that will burn for days.
It has many other uses to work in a pinch, such as a lubricant, balm, protectant, etc.
