Have you ever noticed how what a child believes about God almost always comes through what they first believe about their father?

When we drift from God… it’s not just losing discipline or routine.
It’s like losing the sound of your Father’s voice.

And most of the time, the drift doesn’t happen because we stop loving God — it happens because something else quietly slips into the captain’s chair:
• Busyness
• Pressure to perform
• Shame we haven’t dealt with
• Habits we don’t want God touching
• Dreams we chase without asking Him first

Before long, our spiritual life goes silent…
and so does our heart.

I’ve lived that drift.
And I’ve lived the moment where I had to choose between saying:
“Don’t call my Father…”
or
“I need to talk to my Father… right now.”

Oh, how I wish I could still talk to my earthly father today.
There are so many things I’d ask him.

But the good news — the anchor of my life — is this:
I have a Father I can talk to right now… and He understands everything I’m going through.

If you’ve been drifting, this is your invitation to stop drifting and come home.

ou Don’t Die for a Lie
Why the Disciples’ Courage Proves Jesus Was Who He Said He Was
When you’ve lived the kind of wild stories I have — charged by a massive bear, caught a black mamba by hand, nearly drowned in a whirlpool, and almost crushed by a 500-foot glacier off Alaska’s coast — people sometimes ask,
“Did that really happen?”
I get it. Some of those stories sound unbelievable.
That’s why I always tell them about the witnesses — the friends who were right there beside me when it all went down.
In this week’s Unleashed Podcast, Kevin and I talk about why that matters — not just in adventure stories, but in our faith.
Because the disciples didn’t follow Jesus because of what they’d heard — they followed Him because of what they’d seen.
They saw Him heal the sick, raise the dead, and later appear to them after He Himself had risen.
And that truth turned their fear into fire.
These men didn’t die for a rumor or a religious idea — they died because they knew Him.
No one willingly faces torture, prison, and death for a lie.
This week, Kevin and I unpack the historical evidence, the eyewitness accounts, and the kind of conviction that turns ordinary men into warriors for truth.

What do being miles out to sea in a heavy fog—about to be crushed by a massive cargo ship—and feeling alone at Christmastime have in common?

Both will test who you trust… and whether you’re willing to let go.

I was five miles off Alaska’s coast in a small Zodiac, fighting what I thought was the catch of a lifetime—a monster halibut. But when the fish surfaced, it wasn’t what I expected. A massive skate. Then a cargo ship appeared through the mist. My buddy shouted, “Cut the line!” and in that moment I had to choose: hold on or let go.
Letting go saved us.

Last night, the fog wasn’t on the sea—it was in my heart. Christmas lights, memories of family trips in Pennsylvania, a sled my mom painted, and an empty chair at the table. One of my closest relationships has grown distant for reasons I still don’t understand. Grief, loss, “if onlys”—all of it hitting hard when the world says celebrate.

In the quiet, the Holy Spirit spoke: “Brent, you can’t control this. Trust Me. Cut the line.”
So, I’m letting go of my need to control.

In this week’s Unleashed episode, Kevin and I unpack what it really looks like to cut the line and give up control—how surrendering to the Holy Spirit frees us from the unhealthy thoughts that have been tyrannizing our minds and keeping us stuck.

Men, if you’re holding tight to something you can’t steer—an identity, a hurt, or a relationship—this one’s for you.
What would happen if you stopped trying to make it right and started trusting the One who already is?

Every generation faces a battle — but not every man answers the call.
We’re living in a time when comfort has replaced conviction, and too many men are sitting on the sidelines.

It’s not enough to wear a cross — you have to pick up yours.
We want God to bless us, but not to change us.

We want just enough Jesus to inspire us, but not enough to transform us — because that would require more of us.

But that’s not The Resistance.

The Resistance is made up of men who show up for other men when the world has abandoned them. Men who lead Bible studies, host men’s events, help a brother who’s down, and step into the fight.

⚔️ We are The Resistance. Be dangerous for good.

NEW UNLEASHED EPISODE #119: “Taming the Beast Within”

Ever had someone fly up on your bumper doing 100 mph, riding you like they own the road?
That happened to me recently—and I could feel the beast inside me start to wake up. That same feeling of disrespect can rise up at home too, when a husband and wife stop really hearing each other.
Anger doesn’t always roar—it can smolder in silence, waiting for a moment to strike. But when it does, it can wreck the people we love most.
Husbands, if you can’t get your anger under control, you’re not loving your wife the way Jesus calls you to love her—with patience, gentleness, and grace.
In this week’s Unleashed Podcast, Kevin and I talk about what happens when anger takes the wheel—and how to tame it before it destroys what matters most. We unpack the story of the young bull elephant in musth, how father wounds and isolation fuel our rage, and how the F.I.G.H.T. framework from my upcoming men’s study The Big 5 Mankillers can help you trade reaction for redemption.

New Unleashed Episode 116: Who’s Carrying You Through?

These past three weeks of recovery from open-heart surgery have been some of the hardest I’ve ever faced. There were days I didn’t think I could take another step — but encouragement carried me. From Stacy, from friends who checked in, from prayers, meals, visits, and even financial help… every bit of it reminded me I’m not walking this road alone.

It also reminded me of a man named Art — like a second father to me. Years ago, I stood by his ICU bed. He could barely lift his arms, yet he asked for paper and pencil and sketched out how to make a rifle scope cover from an inner tube so I’d be ready for deer season. Even in weakness, he poured into me. That’s something I’ve never forgotten.

Scripture shows us the same truth. Moses needed Aaron and Hur to hold up his arms when he grew weary. Paul needed Barnabas to believe in him when no one else would. John Mark needed a second chance. Encouragement isn’t optional. It’s kingdom work.

Encouragement is spiritual warfare. It’s the thing that reminds us of who we are when we can’t see it ourselves.

So let me ask you — who’s carrying you right now? And who are you carrying?

If you read Stacy's post today, you already know what's happening with my heart. Thank you all for your prayers and support. It's going to be a rough ride, but I know my God doesn't just walk on water, he created it.
If you'd like to hear where God is in all this, I invite you into my journey in today's podcast, Unleashed Heart.

🌟 Unleashed Heart 🌟

What does it really mean to live unleashed?

This week I found out I’ll be having open-heart surgery. The news hit hard. Through tears and long nights on my knees, I’ve wrestled with what it means to truly surrender.

Here’s what God reminded me: strength on the outside doesn’t mean everything is right on the inside. Pride, ego, and self-reliance can only take you so far. Then God brings you to a place where all you have left is Him.

In His mercy, He let me see it coming. In dreams, He showed me a storm was on the horizon—and that He had already gone before me. He let me know that I would not walk through this valley alone.

The scar that will very soon mark my chest won’t just be about survival—it will be a testimony. A reminder that when we lay down our pride, our health, our plans, and even our will, God steps in with His faithfulness and His power.

This isn’t just about surgery. It’s about surrender. And surrender is where we find freedom.

Unleashed Episode 109 – From Wounds to Wolves: Why Men Retreat Into Loneliness

Why do so many men pull away and isolate when life gets hard?

From Rambo in the woods, to Batman in the Batcave, to Wolverine drifting alone, culture has fed us the lie that the “lone wolf” is the ultimate strong man. But Scripture tells a different story: “Two are better than one… pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up” (Ecclesiastes 4:9–10).

In this week’s Unleashed Podcast, Brent and Kevin expose the wounds that whisper the question every man wrestles with: “Do I have what it takes?” Those lies push us toward isolation, but God’s truth calls us into brotherhood and family. The key is renewing our minds—learning to FIGHT back with God’s Word, uncover the lies that fuel loneliness, and replace them with His truth.

👉 Don’t wait in isolation for six men to carry your casket—find six brothers who will carry you through life now.

1. She didn’t need a lecture. She needed someone to sit in the silence, hold her hand, and understand.
2. Sometimes the most loving thing you can do is simply be there… no fixing, no rushing—just presence.
3. She didn’t need answers. She needed to know she wasn’t alone.
Sometimes the most Christlike thing you can do… is just sit down.
No agenda. No quick advice. Just a dad holding his daughter’s hand, listening, and wiping away her tears. She needed someone there to build trust and extend empathy so she could feel safe unpacking what had been making her sad and feel alone.
In Episode 108 of Unleashed, Kevin and I talk about what it means to walk at the speed of Jesus—and how slowing down can open the door to deeper connection with God and others.

The Ten-Minute Pause: When God Delays You for a Reason
UNLEASHED Episode #107

I was about to walk out of Starbucks when God spoke to my heart: “Wait ten more minutes.”
Ten minutes later — almost to the second — Kevin Huff walked through the door.

That ten minutes turned into ten months of writing the new Unleashed book together — a book I had been stuck on for over two years. I was stalled… and God knew I needed someone to get me back on track.

But not just anyone.
Someone smart.
Someone funny.
Someone who loves God, loves people, and believes in God’s divine appointments.

Only God could take one pause in a coffee shop and turn it into a partnership, a book, and now a new season of this podcast.

🚨 NEW EPISODE OF UNLEASHED JUST DROPPED 🎙
The Morning I Met Ozzy
I was standing in a hotel lobby on tour—singing with the biggest Christian artist in the world—when our bus driver ran into a problem. Ozzy Osbourne’s buses were blocking our spots.
As the hotel manager and our driver quietly tried to figure out what to do, Ozzy—who was sitting right next to me—overheard the conversation.
With surprising humility, he leaned over to me and said,
👉 “I’ll have them moved immediately.”
He didn’t know us. Didn’t owe us anything. But his words—spoken with kindness and respect—moved the heart of our bus driver, a man who expected resistance. Instead, he saw humility.
That moment reminded me of something far greater:
💬 If Ozzy’s words could move buses, imagine what Jesus’ words can do.
He spoke galaxies into existence. Calmed storms. Raised the dead.
And one day… He’ll call your name too.
In this episode, I share the full story of that encounter, how Jesus called both of my parents home in beautiful, holy moments, and the song that came out of it all:
