The 3:50 p.m. accident occurred on U.S. Highway 385 and the south service road of State Highway 158.
Troopers said the wreck involved a 2024 Chevrolet Malibu driven by a 17-year-old female from Booneville, Mississippi, and a 2022 Dodge Ram driven by 36-year-old Bianca Marie Rojo of Odessa.
Two passengers in the Dodge pickup—40-year-old Rocio Lizette Salas of Andrews and a 17-year-old female from Andrews—sustained minor injuries the in the crash, according to the DPS report.
The Malibu’s driver, a 17-year-old female, and a passenger—a 13-day-old baby boy—were pronounced dead at the scene, investigating officers stated in the report.
Troopers said the accident occurred when the Dodge pickup was traveling north in the inside lane of U.S. Highway 385 and the Malibu was traveling south on Highway 385 and attempting a left turn onto the South Service Road of State Highway 158, according to troopers.
