City Receives Significant Grant For Water Infrastructure Improvements

Andrews, Texas – December 10, 2025 — City Manager Steve Eggleston announced that the City of Andrews has been awarded a $750,000 Texas Community Development Block Grant Program (TxCDBG) grant—the maximum amount available—for water infrastructure improvements in a key area of town. The award was confirmed last week during a congratulatory call from Sid Miller, Commissioner of the Texas Department of Agriculture.
The project will replace undersized and aging water lines in the area of SW Avenue E between SW 4th Street and SW 1st Street. Design and preparation work will begin over the coming months, with construction anticipated to start in the summer of 2026.
