The Motown family mourns the passing of a true icon, Rosalind Ashford, who has passed away at the age of 83. 🤍🕊️

As an original founding member of Martha and the Vandellas, Rosalind’s vocal talent helped define the golden era of the Motown sound. From the soul-stirring energy of “Heat Wave” and “Dancing in the Street” to timeless classics like “Jimmy Mack” and “Nowhere to Run,” her harmonies served as the soundtrack to a generation.

Inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1995, Rosalind’s contribution to American music and Motown history will never be forgotten. Rest in power, Rosalind. Thank you for the music. ✨
