On this Christmas Eve day, I would like to share my gratitude for our advertisers and readers of Enchanted Outpost Magazine and the prosperity we have received from our year of hard work publishing what I consider to be one of the finest magazines not only in the Southwest, but in the United States. Our website sales for annual subscriptions have soared and those purchasing are also purchasing every back issue to start a collection. Many are also purchasing gift subscriptions for others. We now have paying subscribers in 29 US states. Below is an email I received from a reader in Scottsdale, Arizona yesterday.

Subject: Some fan mail :-)
Message Body:
Scott & Heather, I found your magazine on a stop at Watrous Coffee House in the Fall. While the barista was making my latte, I spied the Cowboy Poet issue on a table and snapped a photo of the cover because I knew I'd want to read it.
Once I got home, I ordered that issue and have been enjoying it immensely! It's become my "take it with me to read whenever I'm waiting somewhere" treat.
Of course, the Cowboy Poet article is what drew me in (and, yes, I've been enjoying exploring all of their various works).
During a solo dinner, driving between Penrose, CO and Scottsdale, AZ (a trip I make once each direction each month), I was marveling at "The Symphony of Fire and Steel" and turned down the corner of that page to add to my next trip. The waitress looked over my shoulder to see what I was reading and asked, "What's that?" when she saw the engine photo. She snapped a photo of the cover of the magazine, saying her son is in love with trains and it inspired her to plan a trip.
The Highway of Legends article occupied me during a little winter sunbathing on my patio today. I'm scheduled for a hiking trip with a group of pals in July and we booked at Monument Lake Resort for a week. Your article and gorgeous photos gave me so many ideas for how we will spend our time in the area.
But the real reason I HAD to drop you a line is that, as I've been reading each of these articles, I've been amazed to realize every time my brain has a question ... what is a d**e? wonder what that looks like? what is the difference between coal and coke? ... the answer is revealed a line or two later or in a stunning photo.
On the dozens of trips I've made up and down 1-25, I've wondered, "Hmm, what was the Ludlow Massacre?" and then forgotten to look it up, or "I wonder if Ringo's is worth a detour to check it out?" Certainly, I'll plan some extra time on my next trip to explore both of these little spots, and who only knows what else as I make my way through the rest of this issue of your gorgeous magazine.
Bravo - as an author, I SO appreciate the skillful craft of your work with this magazine. You've clearly thought about your subject and taken the time to think through what your readers want to know as they meander through the topic with you.
As you well know, few publications offer this kind of reader engagement and I wanted to drop you a note of appreciation and encouragement!
I'm sure I'll order the next issue and the one after that, to remain on this journey with you.
Kindly,
Denise
