YOU CAN TURN IT AROUND!

“. . .But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and felt compassion and ran and embraced him and kissed him.” Luke 15:20

This incident recorded for us in the Bible tells of someone who behaved recklessly and wasted his entire inheritance. In the process he damaged his relationship with family and friends and ruined his credibility. Here we learn a great truth: God grants freedom of choice to His children. Most of all it shows God’s heart, filled with compassion for His children who repent and return to Him, regardless of how far they strayed. The signet ring placed on his finger indicates his completely restored status in the family and a symbol of power in the household. In essence, it is never too late to turn your life around!

Have you observed the excitement of a youth preparing to obtain a driving license? They must first be of age to drive and have clarity of vision. Then they are required to learn the road rules. The pre–requisite involves acquiring the skills needed, attention, and focus for the task. During the training, the coach sits beside the candidate to instruct them to learn the correct way to drive.

Similarly, to be a functioning child of God there are requirements too. God has promised, “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye.“ (Psalm 32:8) Today, by chance if you have lost your way as a child of God, there is One who longs to guide you back to the fold so you can fulfill God’s purpose in your life. God specializes in “impossible missions.” If what you need in your life is to be rerouted, you must accept God’s only son Jesus as your Lord and Savior and cry out to God for His help and guidance. No lofty words are needed. Speak to Him from your heart and know that He listens to your call. Confess to Him your faults and failed attempts to make it on your own. Accept the sacrifice Jesus Christ made on your behalf to rid you of your sins. Place your trust in the risen Lord and you will experience His saving power. As you confess your newfound faith with your mouth, you will receive the assurance of salvation. (Romans 10:9) You can turn your life around!
