Scenic Rivers Land Trust is looking for volunteers to get outside and give back during its Healthy Forests fall workdays! Spend a few hours removing invasive plants, enjoying the fresh air, and helping protect the beauty and biodiversity of Bacon Ridge Natural Area. 🍂🌳

🎻 The school year has started. The music is just beginning.
As students across Annapolis, Severn, and Anne Arundel County settle into new classes and new routines, it’s also the perfect time to think about where music will take them this year.
At the Chesapeake Youth Symphony Orchestra, young musicians have the opportunity to take what they’re learning and experience something bigger, rehearsing alongside other dedicated musicians, strengthening their skills, taking on challenging orchestral repertoire, and experiencing the excitement of performing together.
And if you thought you missed your chance to join CYSO this season… you haven’t. 🎶
Auditions for the 2026–2027 season are still open on a rolling basis, and CYSO also offers music classes and ensemble opportunities for young musicians looking to learn, grow, and find their place in our musical community.

There are moments when music gives us a reason to stop, listen, and remember what connects us. 🎶

This October, Live Arts Maryland opens its CONNECTIONS season with A Concert for Peace — a powerful evening of music exploring peace, compassion, remembrance, hope, and our shared humanity.

At the heart of the program is Karl Jenkins’ The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace, an extraordinary work that journeys from conflict and loss toward reconciliation and hope.

Alongside it, works by Frank Ticheli, Edward Elgar, and Kim André Arnesen come together to create an evening that reminds us of the importance of kindness, compassion, and caring for one another.

It’s music meant to make you feel something.
