LSAgates is photography page dedicated to sharing the beauty and educational aspects surrounding the Minnesota State Gemstone. BIO: I began collecting Lake Superior Agates as a kid living in Anoka, MN. The shorelines of the Mississippi River were my hunting grounds. While it was a minor hobby at the time it was one that I would partake in often. I attended the University of Wisconsin Superior in
2011 where I majored in Aquatic Biology and a minor in General Geology. It was during my time in school that I became interested in photography. I specifically enjoyed macro photography of insects which was relatively new at the time. Professors, experienced in the local geology of Minnesota & Wisconsin taugh me a lot of what I know today. One class in particular allowed me to understand the general where abouts of LSAs and how to find them throughout our glaciated region. My post college years have consisted of many hours hunting agates all over the state and chasing my dreams. Having amassed a fairly large collection paired with my joy of photography I was interested in sharing my collection / getting others into the hobby that reavolves around the Lake Superior Agate. Feel free to ask any LSAgate/Geology related questions that you would like! Send a message, leave a comment, like, and follow our various pages! Thanks,
