Last weekend was a whirlwind of highs and lows! We stuck it out and used what we knew would work and it did... eventually!
First off we are stubborn and use artificial baits as much as we can. During the morning and the day we were in a good spot on a very busy section of river. It seemed like everyone was catching all around us! We couldn't buy a bite... people we're throwing everything, jigs, spinners, splitshot and minnow. We did the same with little success.
We took a break and went out in the evening and everything changed! There were less boats, the water temp was up and the fish were biting! It was a fun excursion to meet up with some good people!
Josh caught fish with a 2" white swimbait on a 1/8th oz jig, while Emily reluctantly switched to a splitshot and a minnow. After a while, Josh also switched to the minnow because he ran out of his swimbaits. The fish were tight to the edge of the river, but as evening pushed in fish started to chase bait in to the shallows.
