A bit of a unique adventure this past weekend -
Joined the 45x90 Club!

My brother came for a visit and we ran just west of wausau to find the geographic center of the northern hemisphere (locals tend to call it "the center of the universe" but that seems a bit overstated if you ask me lol).
A nice little parking area leads down a trail and to the marker point - although its not a "long" stop to make, we were surprised how many visitors (and unique license plates!) we saw that day!
After visiting the site, we followed the directions to the la Quinta in wausau, signed the log book, and they gave each of us one of the commemorative coins! What a fabulous (and free!) thing to do while in wausau, wi!!

We're back! After being on an island all weekend we couldn't wait to come back and chat about an awesome company built around necessity and functionality. We know them for their awesome bump boards, but they have a whole host of different products that can help anyone be organized on the water.

Camping Night 1 - (Emily's thought) it's an island, there's no bears here!
(Proceeds to leave food and coolers on the picnic table and around camp despite everything I've ever learned about camping) 😬

Day 2 - Hanging out around camp (no joke, talking about people seeing bears swim in lakes and getting videos of it!!) and Sydnee is like, what's that in the water?! We all look, and to our amazement, see a bear swimming straight toward our island! (Video in thr comments)

A short while later, that bear must have been hoping we were out fishing with those coolers still left out, because he came right down the trail walking straight toward camp. He was as close as the pit toilet, but that started to feel a bit too close (and we were still sleeping there one more night)! The bear must not have wanted trouble because we waved our arms and shouted a few times and it casually turned and meandered the other direction. 🤷‍♀️

We tried to get a picture of the pawprint in the sand, but, admittedly, it a bit tough to see.

Did we mention we were lucky enough to spend the weekend fishing with the Tyree's!

Enjoyed the hook sets and the time spent (hiding from the sun) around camp! Thanks for helping us set up our tent in the dark the first night AND for making us a delicious dinner! Hopefully next time we meet up, there will be less heat (and more bears lol jk)!!

A little sneak peak at our home away from home from this past weekend! Everything set up well, and (good news) we didn't over pack and everything fit into the boat with ease!

Taking suggestions on your favorite camp pad or mat.... or way to travel with a full mattress 😂😂😂

Ok, I can't say we found monsters, but it sure did seem as if all the "crappie spots" were filled with walleye..!!

There also didn't seem to be a true pattern to the bite- we could see them down there on the graph, but bites were not consistent (and we seemed to catch one each time we switched baits! Any color, and action, didn't seem to matter that much!)

TAKE 2! HAHA! We are keeping with our "boat theme" and connecting with Damon the owner of GatorBak Bunk covers! We are very excited to talk with Damon and learn all about these bunk covers. We hear they make loading and unloading more smooth and even safer for your boat!
We can't wait to chat with everyone at 7PM Central time!
