Does it look cold? It was!!!!
The story this past weekend was wind!!
Fish were tight tight to the bottom and looking for a presentation that wasn't very fast.... with the wind pushing the boat around, bobber presentations, or cast and retrieve with a light jig worked best.

We always talk about the fish bulking up for fall... when they're on the chew, you never quite know what youre going to set the hook on! Congrats to Josh for this absolute slab!
Although this time of year is easy to resort back to your favorite "go to" baits, its a great time of the year to try different presentations - this fall, Josh has been crushing fish on the Eurotackle Z-spender (in chartreuse). Suspended crappies have loved this micro-jerk bait, and the little pause between each rip of the bait!

Started the day off on a lake, but the bite was a struggle because we found the lake was in turnover. Very murky, with almost no visibility - so green we couldn't see our chartreuse baits on the aquavu!
So - what did we do?!

Switch lakes 😬😬

Relaunched the boat in a new spot, even found a bay that was out of the wind, and lo and behold - fish were biting (and still on chartreuse baits)!

What a way to spend the weekend!!

So with the water temps falling, the big fish are on the move to bulk up for the winter. The fall Musky bite is a favorite for many Midwest anglers that like to use live bait rigs. There is always a chance for something to go wrong and hooks to end up in the angler instead of the fish... This tool helps you get those hooks out every time with a simple design.

This week has been rainy (and not very sunny!), I can only imagine that is helping push those water temps down! Last week, water temps were mid 50's and fish are moving toward their true fall feeding patterns. Time to get the boat out there before winter settles in!
