The song "LIES" is mostly directed at Christ-followers. I was going through a difficult period of alcoholism at the time of the recordings. I was upset with God, the church, and my relationships with others. For many years, I kept to myself in my room. Sometimes we believe that intoxication, unhealthy relationships, and pursuing fame would make us happier and more content, but this is all untrue. All of this results in additional heartache, hopelessness, and dead ends. Your desire for love and happiness can only be fulfilled by Jesus Christ and his plan for your life, not by the world and its pleasures.

I used the "Transhuman" approach in the video as an allegory of the world trying to force-feed what's best for you but it all ends up in lies.

"LIES" was written, produced and recorded by Vic Mendoza for the Recollections 3 song demo in 2003. It was picked up by PsychoAcoustix Records in 2005 and featured on the first solo album SON under VM. Rough and gritty, the album was recorded on a old 8 track mini disk recorder.
