Last night until noon today, I was haunted by every criticism and shaming comment I’ve ever received when asking for help. The loops were relentless. Repetitive. Condemning. Each voice echoing the rejection and abandonment I’ve felt time and time again.

But after noon—after therapy—something shifted. The inner noise became the cries and screams of my own childhood voice… The one who pleaded for help, for escape, for safety—and was ignored. The one who wasn’t saved. The one who was forced to survive silently in the shadows.

As much as this hurts more deeply… I know this is what I need to hear. I need to feel her voice, not flee from it. To sit beside the pain and finally listen. To honor the child who screamed until she couldn’t anymore. Who prayed for someone to care—and was met with silence.

This is the root. And I’m staying with it. Not to drown in it, but to heal it. I’m learning to rewrite those neural pathways—from dissociation into conscious presence. From survival into self-compassion.

It hurts. Gods, it hurts. But like getting a tattoo, I have to breathe through it—bit by bit, line by line.

So I stay. I soften. I breathe. I hold her hand. And I remind myself: I don’t have to heal it all at once. I just have to meet myself right here, with the capacity I do have.

The work isn’t done. But neither am I.
