91.1 The Avenue is a non-profit, 501(c)3 radio station broadcasting in Appleton/Oshkosh/Green Bay market and available to stream online, with app, or smart speaker. The Avenue's mission: create a dynamic, nonprofit radio station dedicated to 1) Providing a one-of-a-kind playlist; 2) Giving nonprofits unprecedented access to the airways for the greater good of our community; 3) Supporting local and regional artists by giving them a platform for their music.

Airing Sunday at 8pm: KOSTIA is a treasured musician, composer, and human being. Kostia is, in a word, special. He's not only a prolific composer and pianist, but one of the most genuine human beings you could ever know. Born and raised in St. Petersburg in the former USSR, Kostia made his way to the United States in 1989 and within a week of arriving he had his first recording deal with Narada Records. Over the years he has been active in the Milwaukee music scene accompanying vocalist Carmen Nickerson and playing keyboards for guitarist Daryl Stuermer (Genesis, Phil Collins). He is a Grammy nominated artist whose compositions are easy to get wrapped up in and a gentleman in every sense of the word. His heart comes out in all the music he brings into being and that is what makes Kostia special.

✨🪑✨To reupholster or not to reupholster…that’s the question. And the best person to ask, is an interior designer. The construction story of a piece of furniture can sometimes be identified just by knowing the name of the manufacturer, but if you need a little more clarity, an interior designer can walk you through the appropriate check list. Solid hardwood? Great! Wobbly, cracked, particleboard? Pass. Is the joinery mortise and tenon? Are there dowels and screws? Worth it. But if it’s just staples and glue? Probably not. An interior designer will also be able to connect you with a trusted upholstery technician and walk you through the appropriate fabric to work with because not all fabrics are the same and the wrong choice could quickly undo any investment you want to make to give your beloved heirloom a second life.

Airing Sunday at 8pm: THE TUNES are one of the hottest bands going in the NE Wisconsin scene
The Tunes came on the scene only two years ago in 2023. From the start, this band was put together to be something bigger than the sum of its parts. Woodie Larsen (guitar), Jon Wheelock (vocals, bass), and Adam Hatton (drums) are the nucleus of The Tunes and when playing live they include players like Joe Sly (keys), Tyler VanderHeiden (bass), Malakai Flynn (guitar), and Jordan Miles (keys, bass). This band has a lot of fun doing what they do and the proof is in their music. Combining elements of 1960s soul, funk, classic rock, and a healthy dose of the 90s, The Tunes' sound is unique and riveting and leaves audiences wanting more.
