Mile of Music listeners, mark your schedules — Fox Royale is coming back to Appleton, and they’re bringing the same irresistible energy that made their past festival sets so memorable.

Hailing from Joplin, Missouri, brothers Nathan and Caleb Hurley, formed Fox Royale in 2019 and built a reputation through relentless touring and grassroots live shows.

Festival fans love Fox Royale because they’re part DIY, part stadium-ready. Their performances become community events — viral TikToks show them sharing pizza with fans before shows, and Midwest writers call them a “touring company” built on genuine connection.

And Fox Royale has built an impressive touring resumé: 42 U.S. states, opening for acts like Plain White T’s, Fitz & The Tantrums, Welshly Arms, and Colony House — even a European tour with Young the Giant. Collaborations include writing with members of The Wrecks, Moon Taxi, and All-American Rejects.

Their sound? Think jangly indie-rock with anthemic energy. Live, Fox Royale smashes expectations. And we remember discovering them at their first Mile– being drawn in from the sidewalk by their bright, danceable, and soulful sound.

Here’s what makes Fox Royale a Mile highlight: their songs feel big without chemicals—true sing-along energy grounded in clever lyrics, uplifting melodies and feel-good stomps.

What started in Joplin with basement jam sessions and pizza parlor gigs has taken them from local roots to national stages, all while keeping that sense of authenticity intact.

They’ve already won over the Mile crowd. Their return is not just a show — it’s a homecoming. Don’t miss this return — it’s one of the weekend’s can’t-miss moments.

🎙️Previews air every day at 9am, with additional coverage throughout each day.

The Avenue’s Mile of Music Preview is made possible with support from Nicolet Bank, Abel Insurance, Appleton Downtown Inc. and Appleton Community Music.

Who knew ‘The Velvet Fog’ could go full adrenaline? 🎤💨 Check out Mel Tormé’s 1995 Mountain Dew shout‑out—singing ‘You get no kick from…’ from a plane. This jazzy Grandpa of swing was always mixing unexpected flair with cool charisma!

Just like that bold Dew stunt, Mel Tormé never played it safe—and neither will Tormé Sings Tormé. On September 12, his son Steve March‑Tormé brings his dad’s fearless spirit back to life at Fox Cities PAC. Expect surprises, sublime voice, and stories as thrilling as a parachute descent.

In case you missed them last year—The Rebel Eves are returning to Mile and bringing sharp, topical and relatable songwriting and soaring harmonies along with them!

In early 2022, solo artists Katie Pederson, Grace Theisen, and Jilian Linklater – three individual, award-winning Michigan-born songwriters came together to form the Rebel Eves, creating a power trio that can trade lead vocals as well as deliver spine-tingling three-part harmonies. Individually, these women have toured nationally. Together, they blend their different experiences into performances that feel like family gatherings—complete with humor, vulnerability, and genuine joy.

They’ve shared stages with The Wood Brothers, The War & Treaty, and The Accidentals.

They weave harmonies with storytelling that's both vulnerable and uplifting—often creating those hair-raising moments listeners call “true listening-room magic”

The Rebel Eves bring connection, truth, and joy to Mile of Music. If you love music that feels like a warm hug, with polished vocals and thoughtful lyrics. Or if you appreciate talented songwriting, stage chemistry, and voices that rise together —don’t miss their return to the festival stage.

🎙️Previews air every day at 9am, with additional coverage throughout each day.
