LIBRARY The Arab Public Library is hosting a College Resource Fair this afternoon from 4-6 p.m. Colleges participating include Snead State, Wallace State and North East Alabama among others.

COMMISSION Charles Whisenant was publicly sworn in at this morning's Marshall County Commission meeting for District 1. He was sworn in by Judge Mitch Floyd.

NEW HIRES The Arab City Board of Education announced a slew of new hires at their board meeting this morning, among them were new Arab Junior High School Principal Brandon Smith, Arab Elementary Assistant Principal Emily Mitchell, Arab High School Assistant Principal Dr. Jackie Hester and Arab High School baseball coach Ridge Watson (not pictured).

CEMETERY The Arab Historical Society held their third annual Decoration Day at the historic 1883 Methodist Cemetery on Shoal Creek Trail today, placing flowers on all of the markers.

CANDIDATES Young Voters for Marshall County held a special student-led candidate Meet and Greet tonight at Lurleen B. Wallace Pavillion in Guntersville ahead of the June 16 runoff elections. The event included a guest visit from US Senate candidate Jared Hudson.

The Marshall County Board of Education meeting scheduled for today, June 5, at 4 p.m. has been cancelled. The next board meeting will be announced once a date and time is confirmed.

Maybe they collect something unusual.
Maybe they have an interesting or unusual hobby.
Maybe they have a really interesting job, or raise exotic animals or plants.

LIBRARY The Arab Public Library held their first Summer Reading Program event at the Rec Center this morning with magician Russell Davis. The next event will be The Nutty Scientist on Wednesday, June 10 at 10 a.m. at the Rec Center. These events are open to everyone and free to attend.

UNEARTH A STORY Make sure to stop by the Arab Public Library and sign up for the Summer Reading Program through June 30. This year the theme is all about dinosaurs and is called "Unearth a Story."
