Our October FIERCE Women of the Month nominees are here — women who have chosen careers that are demanding, unconventional, and require real courage. Each of these FIERCE women shows resilience, expertise, and determination in their field.

Meet our nominees:
🦷 Ashley Pfalzer – Special effects artist creating lifelike cadavers and trauma simulations for medical training.
👻 Dr. Brittany Ann Figiel – Founder of Sarasota Paranormal Investigative Science, approaching her field with professionalism and rigor.
🌿 Lauren Robie – Co-founder of Hope Eternal Gardens, Charlotte County’s first natural burial cemetery, changing the way we honor loved ones.
⚰️ Chellsi Kaufman-Lindner – Funeral director and embalmer intern, guiding families with compassion and care during difficult times.

✅ Scuba certified at just 11 in Key Largo
✅ Bachelor’s in Marine Science + Master’s in Fisheries & Aquatic Sciences (UF)
✅ Known to sign off emails with “Best fishes” 🐟
✅ Charlotte County’s UF/IFAS Florida Sea Grant Extension Agent since 2022

Kate has grown citizen scientists, led vital environmental projects, and inspired her community to protect our waters and sea life. 🌎✨
