📉⛳🌟Golden Tee Money Shot: Why not go back to deeper payouts?
The amount of game play or at least unique players is down right scary. And although Will Sandstad and Johnny D are showcasing this year, it's kind of dead. but we knew that. After running the numbers like i did last year (more on that later) i was shocked at what we haven't done.
We used to pay out to 100 to 400 players deep from 2015 to 2019. Today? We're only paying about 10. The crazy part is our prize pools and top prizes aren't even that different.
So, maybe it's not about the pot size, but about the payout depth (but we knew that right?). The data suggests the true driver of game play is simply paying out to more players. I know we knew this but i was shocked to see we never even attempted it again after 2019. i thought it was becuase of prize pools. i was wrong.
🤷♂️Sure, we're missing the exact number of games played, but can a handful of people chasing a huge jackpot really outweigh the jump in additional players giving it a go? Maybe? I don't know.
I say we start paying at least 100 deep like we did back prior to 2020 and we wouldn't';t even have to bump up the prize pool all that much. besides, didn't they say those number were going up soon anyway? 🙃😁
