"I sat in the front row on the far left side of my Story in Modern America class around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, September 10.

Our professor, who’s likely to be reading this, was valiantly trying to drive class engagement in our literary discussion. Instead, our class was distracted by the national news unfolding before us.

Student body vice president Nate Holder, seated to my left, leaned over to me.

“You know Charlie Kirk?” Nate asked.

I replied affirmatively, and I was certain the next thing I heard was either a prank or a misunderstanding of a news story on Nate’s part.

“He just got shot.”"

Freshman setter .rubio4 has taken the unexpected position of starting setter in stride and leads the MIAC in Overall Assist Stats. She, along with the No. 4 seed Bethel Volleyball team, is hosting No. 5 seed St Catherine University in the Quarterfinals Match of the MIAC Playoffs. The game is at 7pm in the Robertson Center gym.

Yesterday, Bethel Student Government officially made the Bethel chapter of Turning Point USA an official club. Clarion Staff Photographer Kailey Tan shares her experience with Bethel University's 2025 tuition repositioning, the reduction of tuition and scholarships for students.

"September 16, 2024, two weeks into my freshman year, I was walking to Chapel when the words “exciting updates to Bethel’s tuition” popped up on my phone. With my heart racing, I opened the email describing the tuition reposition and what it meant for students.

The more I read, the more I began to feel a pit settling deep in my stomach. I realized not only was tuition being reduced, but so was my scholarship. The follow-up email confirmed it all."

"I used to think Catholicism wasn’t Christianity. I grew up singing Hillsong lyrics accompanied by electric guitar, passing grape juice in little plastic cups through rows of cushioned seats, and watching my pastor preach in jeans and a button-up. It was the most sacred kind of worship I knew.

In fact, it wasn’t until eleventh-grade religion class at my Lutheran high school that I found out that Catholics actually do worship Jesus, and not just Mary."
