Each month look for interesting articles about gardening, pets, DIY projects, recipes and other topics that pertain to the season or area— plus great places to eat, unique places to shop, and fun things to do here in the Catskills. In addition to the articles, w

e have several opportunities for reader participation...the chance to see one of your own photos on the cover, or you can submit your favorite recipe or a weekend project. We are excited to bring back the frog jumping contest to our Fourth of July Celebration this year! So what exactly is a frog jumping contest? Catch a frog and bring it out to the mill (be careful to keep it cool and wet on its journey). Frogs get three jumps from a central spot in the ring. The winner is the frog that goes the farthest after its three jumps!

We hope you can join us for this and many other fun activities on the Fourth of July. The event runs from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. with admission by donation.
