Boring may be a mature machining process, but it’s far from standing still.

Chatter, vibration, tool wear and manual adjustments can all chip away at precision and productivity. New boring technologies are tackling those challenges with damped tooling, real-time process monitoring and closed-loop systems that can automatically adjust the tool based on in-process measurements.
