When Rowan Huntley first traveled to Antarctica in 2010 as part of the Friends of Scott Polar Research Institutes Artists in Residence Programme, the experience changed her fundamentally as an artist.

"Once you've been to Antarctica, you're kind of changed forever," she explains. "You feel very small. You feel very human. You're in awe of the forces down there and the size of the landscape itself."

After returning, she found that simply painting what she'd observed wasn't enough. She wanted to involve the landscape itself in her work and that meant learning about Antarctic geology. So she contacted British Antarctic Survey, and geochemist Dr Jo Johnson answered the call.

Still savoring a heartwarming day at the UCCN Christmas Market, where we SOLD OUT of Oleg Veretskiy's Tales of the Wandering Mists, Book 1! People wanted to know about the translator; how we met Oleg; when Book 2 and the audiobook will drop; all the things. $10 from each book sold at the event goes to the author's fund for Ukrainian children affected by the war.

The Man with Four Shadow: GM Hakim

A little bit about GM: GM Hakim is an award-nominated, full-time voice actor who does voice over work in eLearning, audiobooks, animation, and more. GM's happy clients include Meta, Spotify, Penguin Random House, HarperCollins, Macmillan, and Simon & Schuster. He has received two positive reviews in AudioFile Magazine, and was nominated for a 2025 USA One Voice Award for Best Performance in an Audio Drama by a Male.

Kai-Ko: Ryan Paige

Kai-Ko, the wakaguru (cat-o-lion, as Tim calls him) is a companion of Tim’s throughout his journey. He walks on walls and ceilings due to the little suction cups on his paws.

A little bit about Ryan: Ryan Paige is a full-time voice actor and audio producer. As one-half of Paige Vox Studio, Ryan does the mixing and mastering of all the audio that comes out of their studio.

What Ryan has to say about this project: “It’s rare to encounter real magic in literature, and Tales of the Wandering Mists is really special. My heart is really wrapped up in this project, this story, and what it will mean for people. I can’t wait to put it all together!”
