The night BEFORE the finale, Bruce Springsteen performed and openly addressed the political context surrounding why The Late Show was cancelled. The Boss looked into that camera and said what millions were thinking. And then 24 hours later, it was over. When rock legends are commenting on the state of your television network, maybe just maybe you've made the wrong call, CBS. 🎸🔥 Repost if you agree.

Congratulations to Yolanda Catalla a former winner of the Ventura Valdez Poetry Award (which I, Robert L. Giron established at Montgomery College-Takoma Parl/Silver Spring in 1987 to honor my great aunt; the cash award was given for the best original English and for the best original Spanish poem; it ran until I retired in 2018) who has a new digital ebook recently published.

“Yolanda “Yoli” Catalla left her development communications studies in the 1970s. She resumed them on scholarship in 1987 at the University of Burgundy and the Sorbonne in Paris, this time to learn French. Yoli later worked as an administrative professional at the International Food Policy Research Institute and The World Bank, retiring in 2012. Her poetry and fiction have appeared in major anthologies and journals, and her play Where Peace Begins, written after September 11, toured the Washington, D.C. area from 2001 to 2002. Her poem “Abstract Painting” won the Ventura Valdez English Poetry Award in 2009, while a part-time student at Montgomery College in Maryland. Her later works were published in collections through 2020. I’m Not Weird, I’m Marginal, her memoir, was released in October 2025.”
