Today is Earth Day! It’s a day created to support the efforts of environmental protection. This day was created in 1970 and this year marks the 55th year. This year “Planet vs. Plastic” will bring awareness to the harms of plastic in our environment.
Inclusivity and diversity play crucial roles in addressing environmental issues in several ways:
* Representation: People from different backgrounds may have unique insights into environmental challenges and potential solutions.
* Access to Resources and Information: Inclusive environmental efforts prioritize providing access to resources and information to marginalized communities. This includes access to clean air and water, green spaces, sustainable food sources, and education about environmental issues and solutions.
* Environmental Justice: In many cases, environmental degradation and pollution disproportionately impact marginalized communities, including low-income neighborhoods and communities of color.
