Friday January 7th The Galley 13 and The BDC are proud to present Nick Strickland and Tom Gilmour first two man show "The BDC Bros Photography Show". The disparate imagery (architectural decay, creative portraiture, fine art, international travel, and macro) presents a unified vision, and is informed by its pairing with the artists’ unique creation of the gallery pieces including traditional large format silver gelatin prints, hand made frames, and modern digital techniques.
NIck Strickland and Tom Gilmour have been collaborating on photography projects for the last eight years. While producing award winning interactive projects, product launches, video productions, and marketing campaigns they also created two of the areas most inspirational photo studios and art galleries.
First in Tinton Falls at Primal Stare Studios and most recently in Asbury Park at The BDC (Bull Dog Clip Productions), Nick and Tom ran photography classes, produced incredibly staged and themed photography workshops, and executed high concept client work.
After the close of the BDC studio in September NIck and Tom have continued to produce marketing campaigns and interactive projects for advertising agencies and clients. They have long been working alongside the Gallery 13 to nurture the local photography community, and with the grand re-opening of the new gallery space it made perfect sense to bring the band back together. The new Gallery 13 space (upstairs in the back of the Shoppes at the Arcade on Cookman Ave) is huge, and already filled with the work of resident photographers who rotate their incredible photographs seasonally.
