HOLD ON FAST — GOD IS NOT FINISHED
Growing up fatherless after losing my father at just two years old taught me something I did not fully understand until much later in life: when everything else fails, God remains.
There have been dark seasons, lonely moments, mistakes, wrong turns, and times when I genuinely could not see how far life could go. I was once drawn to a lifestyle that looked appealing simply because I wanted to fit in, without yet understanding the divine purpose God had placed upon my life.
But through it all, God preserved me.
I remain grateful for the foundation laid by my hardworking mother, who raised five children and taught us faith, discipline, and perseverance. We were not perfect, but God kept us. He reached into places that looked like ashes and began turning them into something that could reveal His glory.
Growing up, the music of Mama Bernice Offei and veteran gospel ministers such as Esther Nyamekye, Esther Smith, Comfort Annor, Elder Mireku, Bishop Oko Hackman, Yaw Sarpong and many others became more than music to me. Their songs ministered healing, strength, conviction and hope. People sometimes wondered why someone so young loved the music of the older generation. They did not know what those songs were doing inside my soul.
Today, Mama Bernice Offei's message “Hold On Fast” speaks differently.
Seven years ago, I lost my brother. Last year, I lost my media partner and the owner of Khemical TV, Mr. Samuel Antwi. This weekend marks one year since his passing, and now comes the heartbreaking news of Mama Bernice Offei’s departure.
Yet in the midst of loss, I choose to speak LIFE.
To the person praying while everything seems to be getting worse: hold on fast.
To the person wondering whether God has forgotten you: hold on fast.
To the person standing in the ashes of something you thought would destroy you: hold on fast.
You may not understand the season, but God sees what you cannot see. Your darkest chapter does not have authority to write the ending of your story.
The same God who carried some of us through fatherlessness, grief, mistakes, rejection and seasons of uncertainty is still writing stories today.
Do not lose heart. Do not abandon your purpose. Do not allow darkness to convince you that morning is not coming.
What God has promised, He is faithful to fulfill.
Rest well, Mama Bernice Offei. Your voice may be silent on this side of eternity, but the seed planted through your ministry continues to speak.
And to everyone still fighting: HOLD ON FAST. Your story is not over.
