From StudioRock
I am coming up on my 15th year as the Owner/Operator of StudioRock Of Northern Virginia. In that time, I’ve had the pleasure of working with hundreds of young musicians. Vocalists, guitarists, bassists, drummers and more, have all developed their unique way of performing music at Studiorock.
As I reflect back, I realize that the majority of the former students are still Involved in music in very significant ways. It would take quite a while to list them all, and to describe where they are at at the present time. That will come at a later date as I plan on doing a retrospective of their work.
Tonight is a very special night for studiorock as I have been able to team up with some incredible people who have worked tirelessly on a very special event that will happen today at 5:00 pm thru at least midnight at Ned Divine’s Gaston and Irish Pub and Restaurant in Herndon, Virginia. This event will contribute financially to a great program that is helping disabled adults to find their place in the world around them. A place where they can be creative, contributing to the positive things that humans were meant to be involved in. Thank you to NoVa Live Music Mingle, and Specialty Adapted Resource Centers (Sparc) for making this happen in the most exciting and unexpected way. This literally came about over the last week and it has been nothing short of miraculous!
When I opened StudioRock Of Northern Virginia, my goal was to bring the joy of music performance to as many young people as possible. Having fulfilled that mission many times over with the help and support of parents and co-teachers, this next level of service is just as exciting and motivating.
Fate has brought us together, and fate will now reach out to many who are in need.
