Have we had our wake-up call, Church?
What a blessing it is to have had some incredible brothers serving at the front lines who have lately been called home!
How somber the thought that God may have never gifted them to us to begin with, but in His wisdom and grace ordained them for such faithful service!
Will our losses be enough to motivate us—
To be better Christians, shepherds, husbands, fathers, and friends;
To labor more diligently for the Kingdom now at hand;
To be willing to speak the truth boldly even in the face of great opposition?
The Lord will provide; will we be obedient?
Please, do mourn. But please, do be motivated. Christ has not now given us problems—He has given us opportunities.
Rally around the old Gospel call today.
Commit to putting on the Christian's armor, serving in the fight with joyfulness, willing to sacrifice for eternal things.
Live a life worth living.
Live completely to Christ in your sphere each day, however great or inconspicuous it may be. And when our own names are called, may we be found in the very midst of the fight and not found sleeping soundly unawares!
