As we leave the first decan of Virgo, let's look at the Tree of Life colors for the Eight of Disks.
All Minor Arcana are mapped to the TOL based on their number. So, the Eights are all mapped to the Eighth Sphere, Hod.
The Disks or Pentacles, being of the Element Earth, are all expressed in the World of Earth, Assiah. In Assiah, the Scale of Color is known as the EMPRESS SCALE.
So we say: Assiah of Hod. In simple terms, this means the Element of Earth in Sphere 8 or The Eight of Disks. The eighth color of the Empress Scale is listed as YELLOW BROWN FLECKED WHITE. You can easily find this in all three cards.
In the tarot, it is often a practice to bring the pure colors from the PRIMARY or first of the Four Worlds (Fire, Spirit) into the art of a card. The KING SCALE or PRIMARY COLOR for the 8 is VOILET.
As the tree's forces move downward, it is common practice to include the influencing color from above in the same color scale. The FIVES are situated directly above the EIGHTS on the Pillar of Severity. This color is listed as RED FLECKED BLACK in the GDCS, which is potentially why we see the use of RED in the RWS and Thoth cards.
Another technique is to use the color of the Court Card Element from the same Pillar on the TOL. This is BLUE, as the Queens of the Tarot are of the Element of Water and mapped at the head of The Pillar of Severity. The BLUE water is a prominent feature of The Jungian Card and a signifier of its position under the sphere of water.
