It’s an odd thing when you turn your creative outlet into your main source of income, and there’s a lot of reading out there on what exactly that does to the brain. One thing I’ve found, however, is you still have to get out there behind the viewfinder and shoot some frames just for yourself, with no agenda in mind. Our recent trip to DC had us ripping up and down Pennsylvania Avenue taking it all in, and playing with the new fisheye lens. A little manual focus and a lens that can (quite literally) take it all in feels good on the soul. -Stephan

Not quite your typical Saturday at Highland Brewing Company; instead, this one was spent with a round table of local creators, filmmakers, photographers — and NC Governor Josh Stein and First Lady Anna Stein, First Lady of North Carolina.

Quality time spent listening to each others' stories of Helene coverage, WNC's extraordinary recovery and building stronger bonds of collaboration within the creative community as we mark the one year milestone.
