Loved getting to explore some hometown history while I'm back in North Carolina for a bit!

I spent Sunday afternoon at the Asheville Museum of History Asheville Moh for their curator's talk entitled "Building in the Land of the Sky: Early 20th Century Architects in Western North Carolina.”

It was fascinating to hear the backstories of so many iconic buildings across WNC that I never fully knew about!

It felt so nostalgic because my love of history and why I became a historian goes back to many days spent volunteering at the Smith-McDowell House as a teenager and being part of the Tar Heel Junior Historians. 🩷
