‘The N.C. Department of Transportation Wildflower Program began in 1985 as an integral part of highway beautification. Wildflower beds are installed and maintained across the state by DOT personnel in each of the 14 highway divisions. Many of these beds are marked by NCDOT's wildflower sign.

NCDOT has a booklet to identify the wildflowers planted by the Department as well as some naturally occurring ones. In addition to colorful photos of the booklet contains suggested seeding recommendations for homeowners and the installation techniques used by Roadside Environmental personnel on large acreages...’

Approaching year Three moving into our new home ~ and we can't believe how far we have come ~ with landscaping projects, a new and beautiful wood fence, additional area to our deck and Interior improvements. And do we ever need to give a shout out to our impressively, talented, handy person, El McFarland. To describe El as multi talented in the realm of home improvement seems like an understatement! Trustworthy and friendly, with a Military background, El was like a shining beacon of Hope for us every time she came over to either fix a problem or help us with a new installation. It's without hesitation we pass this recommendation forward to the Grove Park community. Give El a call for your next home project. Cheers!
