This view at Dyrhólaey was pretty hard to beat! This dramatic promontory sits high above Iceland’s southern coast, with puffins nesting nearby, black sand beaches stretching below, and massive sea stacks rising out of the ocean. 🌊🖤
Seeing puffins in their natural habitat was one of the highlights of this stop! They were perched along the cliffs, flying in and out from the ocean, and adding even more life to an already incredible view. Their colorful beaks and tiny, waddling bodies made them impossible to stop watching. 🐧
Not pictured is the iconic lighthouse, but there was plenty to look at in this area—including glaciers, mountains, and plenty of puffin activity! 👀
And yes… I was still looking out for THE mountain. 😂 Turns out my Rainier Watch goes international. 😅🏔️
