BYRDS OF A FEATHER & THE WILD ONES
• BYRDS OF A FEATHER — Friends and family remember Charlie Byrd, California’s first Black sheriff, and reflect on the rise and fall of Weed’s Black neighborhood, Lincoln Heights, and what it means to be Black in Siskiyou County today.
• THE WILD ONES — In Hornbrook, California, a rugged slice of the Wild West remains. This film follows wild individuals, wild horses, and the wildfires that shape their community — and their vision for helping one another survive.
Saturday, August 16 at 7 PM
WE EXIST & FULL CIRCLE
• WE EXIST — An intimate portrait of today’s train hoppers and the fight to grow old on the rails. In Dunsmuir, locals share how the railroad shaped their town, while Sweet Bean Selene fights for her q***r hobo community to survive long enough to become elders.
• FULL CIRCLE — Franklin, a Karuk elder born with disabilities, was told he couldn’t achieve his dreams. This film chronicles his powerful journey of reclaiming his culture and language, proving the strength of determination and identity.
Autie will be present at both screenings to lead conversation and community storytelling.
