Also, for those who knew Parker Matzinger, I would like to include a page in the yearbook dedicated to him. I have a couple pictures of him, but I could use a lot more. The pictures do not need to be from the past school year, they can be of any memories that Northland has shared with Parker. If you can, please describe the memory in 5 words or less. If anyone wishes to write a small paragraph about Parker, I would like to include that as well.

* I have absolutely nothing submitted for these pages. No pictures or information.

** I have a total of one picture for these pages, with no extra information.

Even if you don't have pictures, I will take any information you can provide. For Clubs/Orgs, I can use the groups' mission and goals, events they were involved in, and/or the names of all the members. For athletics, give me the stats for the year if nothing else. For events, send in a little background information about it, even if it is just a paragraph of history.

This is the last chance to get your stuff in the yearbook, otherwise there will be several important items missing.

Thank you all,
Kyle

It has been a long time since anything has been done with this page, and I apologize for that. I learned in April that someone close to me would pass away from cancer soon. I turned my focus on spending more time with my loved one and could not dedicate as much of my time or energy to working on the Wedge. It has been a little over a month now since they passed away, and it has been a struggle every day trying to deal with it.

I did promise a quality yearbook, though, and have been working on it intensely for the past couple weeks. I know it is rather late, but all graduated seniors can get a copy mailed to them, and all returning students will be able to pick up a copy in the Fall.

Another part of the delay is that there have not been nearly as many photo submissions as needed. I have very little to nothing for the following:
Class of 2020 Outdoor Orientation
Golf
Men's & Women's Soccer
Convocation
The Everybody Party
Fall Fest
Applefest
Whistlestop
Men's & Women's Hockey
Men's & Women's Basketball
Volleyball
Men's & Women's Lacrosse
Baseball/Softball
Confluence
Commencement
AISES
Climbing Club
SAAC
TWS
Nordic Ski Club
NASA
Student Art League
AFS
Alliance (other than Drag Shows)
Forestry Club
Environmental Council
Multicultural Club
NCSA

Any and all pictures/information related to these would be greatly appreciated. If you do submit something, please let me know which of the above it is for, when it was taken, and who is in the picture. The less time trying to find out who is in the picture, the more time I can spend working on the actual book.

The hard deadline for extra submissions is Friday, July 14th. If there aren't enough pictures to make a page, then it either gets cut out of the book or will be combined with something else.

Please send your pictures to [email protected] with the event/club/sport as the subject line.

Thank you,
Kyle Antholt, the Editor

Are you really good at drawing, painting, sculpting, or some form of graphic design? Do you want to make something that will last a lifetime? Do you maybe want a prize?

Great! We are are looking for potential cover designs for The Wedge that would emulate the aura of Lake Superior and tie it in with the environmental atmosphere of Northland College. Submissions for the cover, that is front and back cover, will be due by the end of January.

Why so early? Because there will be a contest in which the Northland College community picks the one they like the most! The contest will provide some prizes (details will come later) for the top 3 covers and the best cover will actually make it onto the book!

Hey everyone!

I am excited to see that a fair number of people are submitting pictures. We are already over 70 submissions! But this still isn't enough. We need roughly 29x that in order to be a successful yearbook!

So send in all the pictures you can! Selfies, group pictures, posed pictures, sports pictures, field trip pictures, club pictures, holiday pictures, festival pictures, send them all! We will even take pictures of trees, of leaves, of fruit, of gardens, of buildings, really of anything that could have potential memorable meaning to you or others, or if it just looks cool and you want to see it again in about 10 years when you go through The Wedge again.

Also, we need all the pictures you can muster up that could relate Lake Superior, the theme for the book. Landscape photos are preferable as they will most likely be used as background pictures. Sunset pictures are amazing if you need any hints for pictures you should be taking.

This is the last known picture of the remaining humans taking on the final horde of zombies before a spell was cast that rid the world of the zombie virus.

The surviving humans, from left to right, include Kyle Antholt, Jacob Huss, Chris Langsted, Casey Furchtenict, and Sarah Jeffers. The moderator overlords who made the game possible, from left to right, are Allison Boettcher, Will Lulham, Sadye McCloud, and Alex Hanson-Rosenberg. The terrifying zombies, from left to right, include Cary Ward, Alyssa Christianson, Jake Oster (the OZ), and Evan Vollmer.

Thank you to everyone who participated in a fair and polite game. Thank you to the moderators creating a community building game. Thank you to Blake Olson for taking this picture on the mall in front of the Elephant sculpture last night (10/28).

P.S. If you are part of a fun activity on campus, take some pictures during it and submit it to The Wedge! We will find a spot in the book for it!

Hello all, so it has been decided that this year's theme for The Wedge will be Lake Superior!

What does this mean? It means that we now need people to submit their favorite pictures of Lake Superior and anything directly associated with it! This could include, but is not limited to, pictures of a beach, the lake, the Apostle Islands, the sea caves, the ice caves, boats, an open night with a starry sky, the Northern Lights, and any various activities that might occur out there on the lake.

If you would like to submit a picture for the Lake Superior theme, please do not have people in these photos, or keep it to a silhouette of a person, as these photos are likely to be used as background pictures.

If you have a question about submitting pictures, please email us at [email protected] !

Thanks everybody!
