Recording content in public should come with a warning label:

We started at Celebration, Florida… and immediately learned the birds had zero respect for our audio.

Moved to Disney Springs before opening… and they started the music early.

Found a quiet bridge… right before a cart rattled across like it was on cue.

Wrapped at East End Market… tired, punchy, and suddenly unable to form basic sentences.

And honestly? I wouldn’t change a thing.

Because this is what creating looks like:
Trying again. And again. Laughing through the interruptions.
Having patience even when the perfect take… isn’t perfect anymore.

Twenty years of friendship, events and creative shenanigans with means we know how to roll with it, keep going, and make the magic anyway.

Here’s to showing up and doing the darn thing.

I walked into IAAPA Expo 2025 not really knowing what to expect… and walked out with more inspiration, ideas, and connections than I could have planned for.

The week kicked off with the Triotech Influencer Breakfast, my first time attending IAAPA as press, early access, creator conversations, and a preview of what’s coming next in attraction tech. Then, Genein Letford, M.Ed NeuroSomatic Creativity® completely shifted how I think about learning and innovation, reminding me that business AND creativity is a full mind–body experience.

From there it was nonstop discovery:
• F&B vendors rolling out what’s next in flavors and guest experiences
• A street market full of new CPG brands
• Experiential vendors showing tools that could elevate any event
• Sessions with leaders from Nat Geo, Minecraft, Delta Flight Museum, TopGolf, Angry Birds, Ford Mustang and more
• And yes — an Aquafina obsession fulfilled that powered most of the week

But the part that stayed with me most?
The unexpected moments in between, the conversations in coffee lines, outside sessions, and at press events. Those connections were some of my favorite parts of the entire expo.

Thank you to my dear friend Ryan Allen and Little Birdie Consulting for the invite, for opening the door to a week that stretched my creativity, expanded my perspective, and connected me with people and ideas I genuinely needed.

Somewhere in the middle of 550,000 sq. ft. of innovation, it clicked:
Experiences like this change how I see stories, content, and the way brands connect with people and that inevitably shapes the work I create.

Not here to sell anything… just grateful for a week that will quietly influence everything that comes next.

🎬 POV: You walk into your first Influencer Breakfast as approved press…

An invite-only room filled with creators.
A sunrise breakfast.
Exclusive IAAPA giveaways.
And giving us early access to the newest attractions before the doors opened to tens of thousands of attendees.

Ernest Yale, Founder & CEO of Triotech kicked off the morning by sharing how much the attractions industry relies on storytellers, the dreamers, the creators who help shape how the world experiences innovation. He talked about Triotech’s mission to push immersive technology forward, why early access matters, and how starting IAAPA Week with creators sets the tone for a week built on energy, creativity, and collaboration.

Then came the best part: private demos and a first look at Triotech’s newest experiences before the show floor opened to the public. Connecting with creators from around the world made it even better.

It was the perfect kickoff to my first-ever IAAPA Expo as influencer/press and this recap captures the energy of the morning:

An unforgettable night celebrating excellence, leadership, and legacy

The 100 Women of Color Virginia Gala, presented by & Entertainment in partnership with The 100 Women of Color RVA, honored trailblazing women making a lasting impact in business, education, entrepreneurship, entertainment, sports, government, and public service across the Commonwealth of Virginia.

This inaugural event recognized the achievements of women who uplift their communities and empower the next generation, with proceeds supporting scholarships and mentorship programs for young women of color pursuing college and leadership opportunities.

Grateful to have invited to be onsite to capture this historic celebration alongside and the Voices of Vision team - Adriana Duarte, Jo Oliver, and Jawanda Smith - who brought powerful VIP and honoree red-carpet conversations to life.

Congratulations to all honorees and to everyone continuing to create change and inspire others through action and purpose.
