Above Santiago, Valle Nevado Ski Resort is all wide-open bowls and high-altitude sun.

Opening June 14, it links with La Parva and El Colorado to form the Tres Valles, one of South America's largest ski areas. Early season means quiet runs and that first-tracks feeling that's getting harder to find up north.

Balinese flavors, Aspen evenings. Wayan is back for summer.

Cédric and Ochi Vongerichten return to 614 E Cooper Ave with new seasonal dishes: Colorado lamb satay, lump crab fried rice with morels, and a showstopping Balinese pork crisped to a black pepper crust. The coconut soft serve with Gula Jawa whipped cream is reason enough to linger on the patio.

Dinner from 5pm daily. Happy hour returns June 15, 3 to 5pm. 🥂

Marea is back for summer. After a standout debut winter, the coastal Italian restaurant from Altamarea Group reopens at The Snow Lodge inside The St. Regis Aspen on June 10th, its first summer residency in the mountains.

Executive Chef PJ Calapa lightens the menu for the season with ricciola, Palisade peaches and Calabrian chilies, soft shell crab with Rocky Ford melon, and a Marea lobster roll built for long afternoons. Pair it with a Baciato dal Sole and let the coast meet the Rockies.

Aspen Food & Wine: Marea After Dark

Join Marea Aspen for a one-night-only celebration where acclaimed chefs, award-winning cocktail talent, and Aspen’s hospitality community come together for an unforgettable Saturday night experience.

Set against the backdrop of Marea’s terrace, the evening blends exceptional food, craft cocktails, music, and the energy of Food & Wine weekend after dark. Featuring a special culinary collaboration between Marea Executive Chef PJ Calapa and Mason Hereford of New Orleans’ acclaimed Turkey & the Wolf, alongside cocktails by Lynnette Marrero, co-founder of Speed Rack and founder of Brooklyn’s Milly’s, presented in partnership with Código 1530 Tequila.

Still no traffic lights or high-rises, but even in Crested Butte, a little change is inevitable. Come next winter, the town's only ski-in, ski-out hotel will have a new name and a new look. The Elevation Hotel and Spa is set to re-emerge as The Beckwith, reimagined with a mountain-luxury makeover inspired by Crested Butte's rugged charm, creative soul, and legacy as a pioneer of inbounds extreme skiing.

Nearly every inch will be refreshed, from guest rooms and spa to the sprawling pool terrace. The beloved José restaurant gets a bistro boost with live music and a patio made for long après afternoons. The centerpiece, the Beckwith Residences, brings 49 private slope-side homes for sale at the base of Mt. Crested Butte. Construction begins this spring, with reopening slated for the 2026-27 ski season.
