Part one of the first-ever One Shot musical is out now!

Years ago, the band Broadside made a deal with the devil for their success. Now he’s coming to collect. Before we find out what happens, we have to create the band and explore their past.

I'll be haunting the con throughout the weekend, often shucking great games like Oh Captain, My Captain at the booth (2852) and maybe helping out/stalking my roommates at their booth (which you should check out bc they will have The Time We Have, A Land Once Magic and a bunch more great games - 3850)

On Friday, 12-4 AND Sunday, 12-3 you can find me at the Winged Bull Tavern by (Beer Garden 1 outside the exhibit hall) running HUNT(er/ed) and chatting

Starting today!!! A new actual play series from Dorkspawn!

Fallout: Kings of Mahatt uses Fallout: The Roleplaying Game from Modiphius and will air in addition to regular Dorkspawn episodes as we play Fallout: New Vegas

In session 0, you'll hear us learn about the system, create our characters, and hear about Robin's custom NYC-inspired setting for the Fallout universe!

HAPPY SAD ZOMBIE GAME DAY

The Time We Have is a tragic storytelling game by Elliot Davis about brothers in the zombie apocalypse. One of you has been infected, the other will survive, and you spend your last few days together talking on opposite sides of a closed door.

I am so, so lucky to have been able to watch this game come to life up close.

Last year, Rowan and I played the printable playtest version, while I was locked inside my bathroom in my old apartment. I started crying about 30 minutes into the game and after it was done, we sat on the couch and had one of those conversations that changes a friendship forever.

Then I got to play the game with Elliot, on One Shot (which we re-released today, remastered by Shaghik) and we found a story centered on our shared anxiety about being creatives during troubling times, one of the many things we still connect on and work through together to this day.

Later, in the house we all now share, I got to use this game with my best friend Robin, to revisit a story we both still miss terribly, adding a heartbreaking context to the start of The Atomless that only we get to know.

Elliot very graciously let me contribute a door card to this game, beautifully illustrated by West Cahall, and I could not be more proud to be a part of something I genuinely believe to be very special.

Now that the series has started I wanted to celebrate - Unprepared Casters has been so special to me and I have fallen so in love with each character I've played and each crew I've gotten to play with.

And my dear friend .pptx has brought them all to life with her art. So here they all are!

Took myself on a slightly impulsive solo adventure to Seattle to do something WAY outside my comfort zone

I met up with the wonderful team behind - a musical improv actual play, to record a series for One Shot.

I've never done musical improv before, and the last time I sang anywhere close to professionally was probably about 15 years ago. It's something I didn't know I missed as much as I now realize.

To help me get through this and actually participate, the RPG Major folks ran me through a musical improv workshop first, because they are the most wonderful ambassadors to their art form.

Go check out their show, and keep your eyes on the One Shot feed over the next few months for something that was truly terrifying and absolutely wonderful to make.

This Thursday, 8/28 at 7pm I'm going to be hosting the monthly RPG night at the Nonbinarian in Brooklyn!

This month we're playing Rom Com Drama Bomb, a 3-player RPG where two people who shouldn’t fall in love are up against the evil villain who will stop at nothing to make sure they do. Made by local designer Elliot Davis!

It's got the whimsy of a rom com and the energy of a high stakes action film, is easy to pick up, and I guarantee you'll have a weirdly hilarious time.
