Elafonisos is a small island off the southeastern coast of the Peloponnese in Laconia, famous today for its turquoise waters and the spectacular Simos Beach.

A massive earthquake and tsunami dramatically reshaped the coastline, sinking Pavlopetri and separating Elafonisos from the mainland, giving it the island form we know today.

Pavlopetri is located just off the coast of southern Laconia in the Peloponnese, Greece, between Pounta (Punta) Beach on the mainland and the island of Elafonisos.

Pavlopetri dates back to around 3000 BC, making it the oldest known submerged city in the world.

Our first day at the beach in Greece was everything we had hoped for. 🏖️☀️

Bright sunshine, crystal-clear waters, and not a single cloud in the sky. After months of cold weather, there is nothing more refreshing than soaking up the warmth of the Mediterranean.

Sharing laughter, ouzo, and freshly grilled octopus with our lifelong friends and favorite travel companions made the day even more special.

What more could we ask for? Just good health, so we can continue creating memories like these again and again. ❤️🇬🇷
