In honor of Black History Month, we’d like to spotlight these two Schiffer Craft titles that raise awareness for Black history and celebrate Black artists in craft making:

AND STILL WE RISE by artist and activist Carolyn L. Mazloomi traces the path of 400 years of African American history through a timeline of 97 original quilts by contemporary artists. These works of quilt art explore important events, places, people, and ideas.

CONTEMPORARY BLACK AMERICAN CERAMIC ARTISTS is a visual celebration of the contributions, presence, and experiences of 38 Black artists who are part of the contemporary clay community. Included is an introduction to, and interview with, each artist, and over 300 stunning photos of their work and studio processes.
