We went west to find cactus in the wild. We went not knowing what we were looking for. In the little town of Amarillo Texas, a small city sits an amazing God made structure. We were (My husband and myself amazed by the absolutely stunning beauty that surrounded us. El Duro Canyon is labeled the Grand Canyon of Texas and it lived up to the hype.
When I am least expecting to be hit by the beauty of God, it reaches out and just smacks me in the face. This canyon was one of those unexpected finds on our road trip. We usually pick a spot on the map and stop. For no other reason then that was as far as we were willing to drive that day. Then we plan on exploring the area for a short period of time.
I did no research on this. I didn't know it existed. I am so glad it popped up on our google searches. It was 29 minutes outside of Amarillo and Keith and I would have loved to spend more then one day there. The few pictures I am showing tonight does not do justice to the beauty of this place.
